Equally, at home in a biker bar or under a proscenium arch, she takes the stage solo, armed w/ moxie and an acoustic guitar, singing about the stuff classic country folk and blues music is made of: heartache, heartbreak, redemption, and revenge, all filtered through a sassily southern perspective, w/ equal parts humor and pathos.
Her debut studio album “You Can Call Me Darlin’ If You Want” was released on NYC based Velvet Elk Records in September of 2020, to impressive acclaim , for a previously unknown artist, with American Songwriter declaring “Swindall affirms her place with ‘You Can Call Me Darlin If You Want”. “Darlin’” garnered particularly positive attention in the UK Americana + Country Press, with Americana UK telling readers “Don’t let this masterpiece pass you by” and Country Music People giving the album 5 out of 5 stars. It was also named to several US and UK publications end of year “best of” lists, and enjoyed the #1 position on Europe’s Hot Disc Top 40 charts for 6 consecutive weeks.
A road dog through and through, Swindall has toured the US and now, the UK, for the better part of the past decade , with 2021 being her first foray across the Atlantic.
2022 marked such touring highlights as a Glastonbury Debut on the Left Field Stage, alongside Billy Bragg, for his Radical Round Up , a supporting Summer tour w/ fellow NYC artist Jesse Malin, and an end of year headlining tour across the UK.
