XN Rose (pronounced letter x, letter n, rose like the flower) is a Brooklyn based singer, rapper, violinist, DJ, and songwriter. Known best for his work with the indie band “Juice”, Rose began work on his artist project in 2022, after compiling a number of demos influenced by Stranger Things. The music sits at the crossroads between retro synth-pop and hip-hop, while psychedelic violin solos, rich string arrangements, and folk-influenced lyricism all contribute to songs that sound a little bit like the 80s and a little bit like the future. It certainly doesn’t sound like anything else in the world of popular music. 

Rose lists his influences as Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Majid Jordan, Daft Punk, Jean-Luc Ponty, Electric Light Orchestra, Jimi Hendrix, and Stranger Things. Additionally, the string styles of Turtle Island String Quartet, Boyd Tinsley, Peter Lee Johnson, Stephane Grappelli, and Stuff Smith all contribute to Rose’s violin sensibility. When he’s the DJ, it’s all on the table.
