Hudson Freeman

Lofi-Folk artist Hudson Freeman began writing songs during his transient upbringing in South Africa, keeping himself company with a guitar and YouTube videos of Midwestern indie big-hitters like Sufjan Stevens and The National. College years spent in Springfield, Missouri gave Hudson and his music a firm spiritual home as well as a sturdy DIY platform from which to leap. Now based in Brooklyn, 25-year-old Hudson Freeman continues to record and perform songs equal-parts resonant, reflective, and pointed. Maybe that life of transience paid off into something of equal sonic diversity. His next album "Is a Folk Artist" attempts to bring trends in lofi hip hop, shoegaze, and emo alt-country to bear on contemporary singer-songwriting.
